In her place, the company sent a substitute, and together we focused for an entire week on sewing projects I\u2019ve postponed from year to year, month to month. I have a sewing machine and a serger at home, but I can\u2019t lift them onto the worktable myself. Most of my sewing supplies are usually out of reach because of the clutter that has accumulated in the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Space to Movement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we were able to concentrate for a whole week on cutting and sewing, things shifted in an unexpected way. We got four dresses almost finished. At the end of the week, I was deeply bothered by the fabric scraps, needles, and threads scattered around my apartment. The mannequin stood in the office. Its beautiful tunic was lovely to look at, but\u2026<br><br>The next day I called my landlord and asked her to let me know when a three\u2011room apartment becomes available in the building. At that point I didn\u2019t think much of it. I just had a strong feeling that I needed a third room. My landlord said that there actually <em>was<\/em> a three\u2011room apartment available right now, and I could go see it the next day when the property manager was on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turbulence and Clarity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Things progressed under their own weight in an emotional turbulence. At times the direction was completely clear; at other times I nearly sank into waves of hesitation. But now I have a move ahead of me and must adjust to a new budget. Rent will take most of my income, but otherwise my expenses are small. I have minimized, optimized, and shrunk myself enough over the past decades. Now it is time to expand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Space as a Resource<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because space is not just a physical environment. It is a resource that enables the use of other resources. I can own a serger, a sewing machine, and fabrics, but without space they are like closed possibilities. Space is what opens them. Space makes skill usable, ideas executable, and energy directable. Without space, a person shrinks even if they have everything they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Culture That Shrinks Us<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Sunday I saw a video that brought up old Finnish proverbs: \u201cHe who has happiness should hide it\u201d and \u201cHe who reaches for the spruce will fall onto the juniper.\u201d The intention was to emphasize that we should be grateful even for small resources. Hearing these sayings now, I feel they have nothing to do with gratitude, but rather with suppressing one\u2019s own possibilities and true self. As if bringing oneself forward and expanding were signs of ingratitude, boasting, or showing off.<br><br>People have a deeply rooted habit of shrinking themselves. Over the past decades I\u2019ve repeatedly heard people lament that they would like to create something unique and focus on what they feel is truly theirs. They have the resources, but things stall due to lack of space and time. Culture has taught us to suppress our expansion. Modesty has turned into caution, caution into self\u2011shrinking. And eventually a person no longer fits into their own life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Environmental Design Without Room for Movement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the early 2000s I\u2019ve tried to find a rental apartment that suits my needs, and I\u2019ve seen that despite all building regulations and accessibility standards, apartments are not truly accessible. They are designed for the needs of a \u201cnormal person.\u201d Everything is fixed, locked, and predetermined: the sauna\u2019s steam room will not turn into an expanded bathing space except in imagination. The fridge\u2011freezer has its designated place. The landlord has determined your movements and needs before you\u2019ve even stepped onto the stage.<br><br>Current environmental design is about fulfilling rules, not supporting human movement. For years I\u2019ve thought that rental apartments should follow the same principles as commercial spaces: the contract should include only the walls and basic infrastructure, and the person should be able to build their environment according to their own movement. Ready\u2011made apartments serve short\u2011term needs, but in long\u2011term use they shrink the person. Only homeowners can modify their space. Most people are forced to live in spaces that are never their size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Perception Expands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent weeks it has become increasingly clear to me that expansion is not only about physical space. It is also perception. The Quantum Nexus videos I watched a year ago began to speak to me in a different language than before. As if I were looking at the same world from a different angle. I understood that we don\u2019t need to change anything except our perception. That we are part of the unified field regardless of circumstances, without effort or special abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Laser Light and Me<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don\u2019t need to activate any powers. We only need to optimize the light we already have. Ordinary light illuminates everything but penetrates nothing. Focused light is like a laser: it doesn\u2019t scatter but cuts through stone.<br><br>For decades I\u2019ve lived like scattered light, trying to illuminate everything but penetrating nothing. Now my attention is beginning to focus determinedly on my goals. I expand not because I become something new, but because I stop shrinking. When perception changes, space opens \u2014 both inside and around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">End\u2011of\u2011Year Focus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My need to move materialized completely unexpectedly, and we will use the rest of the year to arrange and refine my new style and apartment.
